Updating Moto G 'Osprey' to Q prior to /e/ installation

I’m wondering if anyone has links explaining how to install android Q onto the Moto G ‘Osprey’ via Linux Mint or Ubuntu. I have so far only found guides explaining how to do so via a PC or Mac…

$ sudo apt install android-tools-adb
$ sudo apt install android-tools-fastboot

or

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade

Hey, thanks again Piero! Really helping a noob out lol

OK so Im still a bit confused. Can I just flash the latest /e/ ROM onto the Moto G Ospreys 6.0 OS? Will the /e/ image offered in the ‘Upgrade’ section here work?: https://doc.e.foundation/devices/osprey/

If this is still unclear, Im trying to ask if I need to update the Moto G Osprey OS to ‘Q’ using firmware not provided on the /e/ build page before flashing the /e/ 0.16 image found in the above link to the phone. The phone in question is currently running a 6.0 Marshmellow OS.

Here are the phones specs:
