Upgrade from 1.13 to 1.14 encrypted userdata without asking

Continuing the discussion from Stuck due to encryption after upgrade to 1.14:

Hello,

i’ve the same problem and want to ask, was there a solution found?

I simply upgraded from 1.13 to 1.14 which (without asking) encrypted the userdata. I didn’t enter a password for that (the screenlock pwd does not work).
That means, there must have been used a default password by the encryption process. Does someone know an give me that default password to have a chance to decrypt my data?
The startup-logs look like that

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

That is weird, and I have no idea, did you try with your standard password?

The thing is /e/OS version1.14 is far, far outdated, the current version is 3.1.1…

Would you try to completely shut down your device, leave it off a few minutes then boot it again, or reinstall /e/OS using the latest version for your device?

here was another thread on that topic (without resolution) - Samsung Galaxy S9 files encrypted after update and possibly being forced to reset to factory settings

if you can source the /e/OS 1.13 image somehow (or anything older), I’d try to downgrade. It’s not unlikely things never got encrypted but the new fstab just assumes an encrypted partition

Thanks for your answers!
Idea of trying the latest version sounds as interresting as trying to use a a 1.13 version (but for the latter mentioned: do you have a hint, where i could get a 1.13 from?
