Upgrade Samsung S10e / beyond0lte from T to U: T-recovery lacks dynamic partitions?

Dear community,

I was lucky to upgrade beyond0lte from S to T just via recovery sideload, using the old S-recovery.
After that, I auto-upgraded to the latest T-version with automatic recovery-upgrade. Worked!

Afterwards tried the same with a jump from T to U but failed. The message from the T-recovery (2.6.4):
’ the current recovery does not seem to support dynamic partitions, please update’

Do I really have to do the horrible manual recovery upgrade procedure as described here?
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/beyond0lte/install/#installing-lineage-recovery-using-heimdall
Especially this step costs tons of nerves and will most likely fail (if you lack the routine of upgrading numerous similar phones):
‘Be sure to reboot into recovery immediately after installing the custom recovery. If you don’t the stock ROM will overwrite the custom recovery with the stock recovery, and you’ll need to flash it again.’ This requires a lot of luck.

Cheers an kindest regards
Ulrich

Except in the case of this upgrade there is no longer the stock ROM; you are replacing one custom recovery with another. No overwriting is expected.

Thanks for this hint!

Solved now. Went the heimdall-way after some fiddling and it worked, luckily.
