Upgrading an e/os

I’m already using e/os Android 14 on my Xiaomi Note 9S and I noticed that e/os Android 15 is also available for my device. both roms are community builds.

I wanted to ask how should I upgrade it. will downloading the android 15 rom and installing it with my current e/os recovery works fine? will I lose my data?
