Using /ecloud instead of Dropbox or Google Drive

Is it possible to use /e cloud to sync documents with laptop ? I’m using it to sync files
with my Gigaset phone but it would be nice to have laptop synced as well in case it breaks.

Is there a bridge software for it ? I’m using Ubuntu.

Feedback is much appreciated.

Yes, use nextcloud desktop client

The built-in manager doesn’t allow some apps to access and save, so use the actual desktop client

Syncthing also covers the usecase phone<>laptop pretty well, no space restrictions, full bandwidth, but a bit of configuration. There are howtos for it in the forum.

A more userfriendly Syncthing, installed by default, conservatively configured for network local sync only would help a lot of people avoid cloud subscriptions. Admittedly it doesnt cover the full utility as Dropbox (sharing, idea of users, offsite backup) though, but is great for your own devices
