So far I am very impressed how smooth everything seems and the install process was far easier than I expected. TBH though, I didn’t really follow exact instructions. I was on lineage 17.1 Android 10 so I had to flash Oreo firmware first. I did not format data (wiped cache, davlik, system and data) and installed completely from orange fox recovery rather than adb. Everything seems to be working flawlessly. I just wish I would have heard of /e/ sooner. Thanks to all the developers who have been working on this very interesting and, at least for me, important project.
