Video streaming crashes phone

Hi,

I am using /e/OS 3.1.1 on FP4. All video streaming apps crash after about 15-minutes of playing. This includes Netflix, Disney+, and even national video streaming apps (Dutch public broadcasting). It only happens with these apps and never anywhere else. The crash is not just an app crash but the entire phone crashing. First the last video frame stays on screen for about 5 seconds together with the last pitch continuing to buzz. Then a black screen, followed by the phone automatically restarting itself.

Same here with /e/os 3.1.4.

First time observed was on /e/os 3.0.1. I post a ticket 20 Jun. Ticket#9946777. I applied all recommendations but problem still present.

It happens once a day. After the reboot, no issue for the rest of the day.

Streaming app used: Netflix, Orange TV.

Oh with me if it happens once and then restarts it will happen again. So there is no cooldown of a day for me.

Is it possible to collect a log Capture a debug information from /e/OS of this fail. I would be inclined to first search if drmor widevine appears in any log.

Short update after upgrading to /e/os 3.2 on my Fairphone 4 => no more issue since few days. Looks good to me. Thx!

Also was able to watch an entire streamed movie without crash. I saw in the changelog parental control crashing after an amount of screentime, being resolved. Is that what was happening? That it was running in the background even though parental controls were not enabled?
