Virtual Android for Banking Apps and others

Hi all,

today I’ve discovered the App Virtual Android. It can install a virtual, stock Android inside a Android (like /e/OS) and one can install banking apps and other apps that don’t run on e/OS. One can install GAPPS and have the play services and play store inside the VM. I’ve tried out the Urban Sports app and indeed, it works
By default one can install Android version up until Version 11. For other ROM’s, it looks like one has to buy the paid version. It looks like one can earn some credits by watching adds

The default Android versions (e.g. Android 11 and older) are provided by the app vendor and can be downloaded from Telegram. Not sure if other downloads also work (like from official ASOP sources). here is a video on how to install it.

I wonder how to judge the app from a privacy point of view. The app doesn’t need root but some permissions from developer options (Wireless debugging, pairing devices, allowing notifications)

Since the app itself is not open source it’s probably not trustworthy. However, if you bring your own Android ROM, then it I don’t know if the Virtual Android app has access to what’ run’s inside the VM.
Besides banking apps, one could also run other apps inside Virtual Android that are not that sensitive.
On the other side, you one may uses only MFA for banking apps on a desktop session, then it might be OK.

There are also other apps VMOS or touchHLE. With that latter, one can run iPhone OS apps on Android and it’s open source. But touchHLE doesn’t really help if I want to run Android apps , except the app i want to install is also available on iPhone.

Has anyone tried Virtual Android or has an opinion on it?

I know that also apps like Shelter exist, but there are also issue running some apps.
