VoLTE and other options not available on galaxy A72

Hi all,
I recently installed e/os on a Samsung Galaxy a72, however, I’ve been having some issues with internet connectivity on the sim.

While trying to fix these I discovered a number of settings which appear on my Fairphone 5 (also running e/os) are not showing up in the menu for the A72.

These include VoLTE, WIFI calling in the SIM section and the entire wifi calling subheading in Calls and SMS

Please let me know what is going on and how I can fix this. Thanks

When custom ROMs are installed on Samsungs, they lose the ability to use VoLTE. (You can thank Samsung for that.)

No. It would mean somehow convincing Samsung to make their proprietary IMS/VoLTE implementation available to the open source development community.

I think you have limited options:

  1. Reflash stock Samsung firmware to return functionality.
  2. Keep the custom /e/ ROM installed, but use the phone without mobile network phone calls, or use it for some other purpose than as a main phone.
  3. Get a different brand of phone to degoogle and reclaim your privacy.
