Hi,
I have manually “upgraded” to Q which in my case means:
- installing a fresh android Q+TWRP+/e/+root+restoring apps+uninstalling root.
Everything went well until the “uninstalling root” (Magisk). I did it from the Magisk manager app and got stuck on the S9 boot logo.
On android Q, /data is automatically encrypted (even without giving a password to protect the phone).
I tried many things: rooting again, unrooting with Magisk zip utility (TWRP) but I got errors with /data (weird).
So, I had to start again from the beginning.
I suspect automatic encryption is the cause.
So, if you need unrooting on android Q: be careful.
Best.
