Web assembly required in browser

Hi folks,

Today i wanted to look for something on the internet using that amazing built-in browser, but my search engine (Brave) have asked me to confirm that i’m not a robot (i’m using a vpn). However, i have received a warning saying that webassembly is required to run the page. And this looks not to be installed in the browser, according to brave. I’m now unable to search anything using this search engine.
Do you guys know what this is about ? Has it already happened for you ?
Any help is welcomed.

Hello, VinK !

Could it be link with this ?

Hi @Didou

I don’t really know as i’m not specialized in that topic… I just know it used to work before and it’s not related to a system update as this error occured several days after the update i have noticed it few days ago through my search engine but web assembly may not be inserted in the code till the begining. But i don’t really know about web assembly. According to several sites, it’s really useful and most browser have it installed. Why isn’t it the case with /e/ ?

Edit: the “confirm that you’re not a robot” page only appears when using my vpn. As long as webassembly is not installed, i won’t have privacy on the internet using that search engine as i cannot prove that i’m human.

Hello @VinK3645 I’m sorry but I couldn’t help further, this is also beyond my knowledge.

I just tried to made a link between the two subject, because of the web

As I understand it [1] WebAssembly is turned off in cromite whether it can be turned on idk. This was mentioned as a reason for its exclusion.

Ok i get it better. But is there a way to enable it and then disable it ? I just want to check a captcha and that’s all. I don’t need it most of the time…
Maybe from the flags tab ??

Edit: i found it, you can enable it via the ://flags tab in the browser. There’s an experimental feature for it.

Edit 2: shown as enabled… Doesn’t solve the problem

Finally ! I managed to solve the problem. In the browser, 3 dots > settings > site settings you’ve got an option that by default blocks JIT and webassembly. Just need to activate the switch, and it works !!
