For the OnePlus Nord avicii users there is a test build available in case you are on the testing channel and want to help with the testing process. You can check the progress of the fix on gitlab.

Is Android 16 /e/OS a development target for FP3?

For the FP3 official, we will go step by step. We will start with A15.
Next step would be A16.2. There will require a substantial development effort as we will need to do some things from the kernel level upwards. The developers will attempt this as well but not immediately. As mentioned above A15 official is the first priority.
As I mentioned in the initial post there is a 1 - 2-month timeline to complete the A15 official.

Why this project ? Whatās the value ? I understand the value of Murena Maps but here, we have a lot of browser on Blink. It will be more interesting on Gecko, but here again, we have a lot of browser.

Good news, in the features available with this browser, will it be possible to :
- sync passwords, history, opened tabs and favorites with /e/Os browser

It is a step in creating apps that work across devices and are in tune with the de googled world of /e/OS.

I can sync passwords, history, opened tabs, favourites between Firefox/Fennec/Librewolf, which also have multi-account containers. @18yt8zhg has a point, and Iād rather see the team put all the resources in the development of the OS rather than on a browser with no added value. Plus, itās weird to talk about a de-googled world and then build a browser based on Chromium/Blinkā¦

I think its a long term progress like building a murena universe with everything synchronized like wallet, password manager and so on.
So the Browser is just a part of the puzzle. This is just my guess, because they said they also want to implement web based Version of murena maps.
I also have different thoughts on this, but i think if you want to be competitive for mainstream users you have to give them a feeling of a smooth interactive OS with expandable options. So maybe this might be a good long term strategy.

I agree with you. I donāt use most of the features offered by Murena because Iāve my own Nextcloud installation (server) and also use Proton ecosystem but I really understand and respect Murena strategy trying to help āordinaryā users.
Iām pretty sure I wonāt use this browser but, once again, I understand.

Yeah, Iām sure, but wouldnāt it be better to focus first on the OS and Murena Maps before developing apps and services that offer the same features as other browsers? Plus, running on Blink also means accepting that Google sets the rules.
We can all agree that building an ecosystem is hard work, but the ecosystems from Apple, Google, Microsoft, or even Proton and Infomaniak all have their own unique touch. Sorry, but despite the fact that I love /e/OS and recommend it, what do the forked apps offer that the originals donāt? Nothing. So for me, just rebranding apps doesnāt mean youāre building an ecosystem. On the other hand, for Murena Mapsāat least based on the promise madeāyes, there could be added value.
Iām totally agree with @postal8555, first, be focused on the OS, more stable, more secure, to develop for A16 for all devices eligible for this update.
will it be available for download on the image server? so far the previous A16 build do not show up there, but maybe thatās because they were failing?
Having a set of default applications that all work better in sync with our OS would mean not having to carry multiple devices and an easier process of data passing safely from one app to another.
As Gaƫl mentioned in the post, Elixir is still at the experimental stage.
There is no pressure on users to change to these apps if and when we formally release them. You can continue using your own apps.
Our core focus user groups remain users who are not technically very knowledgeable and would like some help to keep their data safe but do not know how.
For those who are technically excellent, read all the latest tech news, build and install ROMs or third-party apps and know their way around the innards of smartphones, there are no limitations. You can continue using your favorite third party apps in case they work seamlessly on /e/OS.
Also, from the development or planning perspective, we do not cut down our focus from other critical apps or issues when working on such projects.
