I’m sorry. I choose the wrong words. I don’t pretend to represent anyone.
Personally, I won’t be participating.
Will have the guided updated for all devices which have A16 but still show A15.
Pl note the following supported devices A16 builds are now available for the below devices as well. They had failed in the initial release but are available now with v3.7.x
| Vendor | Devicename | Codename |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel 8a | akita | |
| Pixel 7 Pro | cheetah | |
| Pixel 9 Pro Fold | comet | |
| Pixel Fold | felix | |
| Pixel 8 Pro | husky | |
| Pixel 7a | lynx | |
| Pixel 6 | oriole | |
| Pixel 6 Pro | raven | |
| Pixel 9 | tokay |
just a question some devices have already the A16 3.7.2
The husky has 3.71, and I remark some weird behaviors on it, like the app don’t close by square button and swipe up or some apps have no trackers but have normally trackers.
the roll out of the 3.7.2 is still on doing? and we should have patience?
or something went wrong?
There is a v3.7.3 coming out which will have May security patches.
For me, the upgrade to n+1 android’s version is important because android’s version give:
- purge old code and olds applications (in Android 14, the application need to be build for mimimum Android 6.0, and in Android 15 it’s Android 7.0);
- new android it’s new API, some of them give better privacy (selection of contacts allowed access for an application, choose an another wallet than Google Wallet, ad a private space, supression of TLS 1.0 and 1.1; partial access of photos or vidéo for an application; eviction of old netwok like 2G/3G; etc);
- access of the security update (when the n android’s version is on the end of life)
Of course, i don’t wan immediatly of the latest version of android but i think it’s not versy serious to let a supported phone on oudated version of android.
Great to hear that it’s moving on. But what about the promised A13 –> A16 upgrade for Google Pixel 5 (redfin), one of the official phones in the Murena store? Still not on the planned OTA upgrades list?
Would just like to add that this phone is special, in that it is the last one of Google’s phones to be in a small format that it can be comfortably operated with one hand. I’m sorry, but anything after that just falls out of my hand more easily. It’s really a pity that Google doesn’t offer smaller-format phones anymore. 6.0” screen, that’s the limit IMO.
As mentioned in the initial post we are planning upgrades of all devices. Will check with the team on the redfin and share dates if available or the current status.
I’m excited about any new additions included with 4.0 major release!
I second that request for the Pixel 5 so thanks for asking the team.![]()
