For apps that do not work post any update, the best option is to raise the issue in Gitlab. Share as much detail as possible in the issue - device make, OS and build version etc.

Payback hasn’t worked for many years. Same as Ticketmaster. Consorbank works fine on any devics (I’m rooted with unlocked bootloader). Same for Openbank (part of Santander). Works fine.
I have an OnePlus Nord CE (running STOCK A13), nothing unnecessary installed but also not logged in to Play Store. In that case, Payback doesn’t work. Men, these people are paranoid.

For GMX or most other Mail services I would recommend you to try out Thunderbird/K-9(aka the pre installed Mail App of /e/OS), there you can log in with your GMX credentials once you enable POP3/IMAP Support in the GMX Settings.
Thunderbird offers a few benefits, such as dark mode, blocking of external images(they are often used for tracking) etc.
You can also change a lot of these settings.

A year ago, payback still worked for me. A little later I got the error message.
Is this 3.1.1 release expected to incorporate security patch level 2025-06-05 (or later)?
I have a Fairphone 5 currently on 3.0.4-t-20250709507786-official-FP5 (Android 13), whose “About phone” page claims is at “Android security update: 5 June 2025”.
I’d like to upgrade to a14-official, but the FP5 install page implies that the current latest image (3.0.4-a14-20250708507308-official-FP5) has “Security patch: 2025-06-01”, which looks older, so I fear tripping over rollback protection.
(The June 2025 Android security bulletin indicates that 2025-06-01 and 2025-06-05 are both real, distinct security patch levels, so I assume this is a real problem and that the install page is accurate.)
So I’m hoping that when a 3.1.1-a14-…-official-FP5 appears (for manual installation), it’ll have a new enough security patch level to avoid any risk.
(This is the same situation as this poster on the Fairphone forum.)

/e/'s Mail app is actually a fork of Thunderbird/K-9, so will lag behind the original in terms of new features and bug fixes. Better to use the original upstream version from F-Droid
Sure, but that is a general issue with /e/OS.
Maybe it would be possible for /e/ to just have them pre installed but still keeping updating capabilities.
Anyway the current featureset might be up to date enough compared to some proprietary very legacy like mail client.

Fairphone 3, Fairphone 4, Fairphone 5, The Fairphone (Gen.6), Teracube 2e (2021), Murena One and Murena 2 now benefit of a user build instead of a user-debug build for improved compatibility with third party apps.
I don’t understand what it’s mean! What’s the difference between a user build and user-debug build??

The user-debug is a build type that show more what is going on in the logs and might be a tat less secure than the user variant. Some apps might trip/hang over this. See Android ऐप्लिकेशन बनाना | Android Open Source Project for more information.
