Weird headphones issue

The device I’m using /e/OS (3.0.1-a14-20250607498954-community-tetris) on is Nothing CMF Phone 1, and it doesn’t have a 3.5mm Jack output, so I have to use USB-c adapters to connect my wired headphones.

I have tried two adapters so far. In both cases the headphones are recognized by the OS, and I can even control volume with buttons on the headphones.

The first adapter produces no sound at all.
In case of the second adapter, I have to plug it in and out multiple times until eventually I start hearing sound. However, each time I do something on the phone (press any button on the screen, for example), I hear noise, and the audio quality decreases. If I lock the phone, the quality becomes perfect.

Do you have any idea what this could be related to? Should I maybe try installing the Official build and see if anything changes?

Thank you so much fo help

There was issue in Gitlab. But currently it returns “404: Page not found”.

I found a snapshot of the issue on Wayback Machine. Yes, this is the exact same thing, now I at least know it’s not a hardware problem.
I think I will open an issue about it since that one was deleted.

Thank you for the reply

it’s possible that it’s now only hidden for internal use. Can you comment on that @Manoj ?
