Since Cerberus removed their ability to remotely wipe a device. I’m genuinely surprised what little options there are. I’m guessing Muerena’s MDM would be an option but the problem is it looks like a business. I’d gladly pay a small fee just to use it on a personal device to wipe everything on my phone in the event of theft. Obviously I can’t use find my phone since it doesn’t have Gapps and I’d rather not deal with a Google account if I can help it.
You have Find My Device (FMD) that can remotely wipe your device if you agree to create an account and store your data on the dev’s server. Alternatively you could self-host the FMD server.
Our family uses Trend Micro Mobile Security (2 year license for 5 devices):
This is perfect! I’ve looked everywhere and I’m now kicking myself this never showed up in my research. Thank you so very much showing me this.
@AE720 @MaMaTT88 You don’t need any server account to use the FMD app . (The project has a new home page: https://fmd-foss.org/ .) You can use the FMD app just by sending text messages to it instead. A FMD server account (either self-hosted or on someone else’s computer) is an optional extra feature.
It is necessary if you want to use features like remotely taking a picture with the front or back camera.
You can use FMD’s remote wipe feature without a server.
