I live in the US and ordered a Fairphone 6 through Murena. At the time, their website said that it would be shipping sometime in August. Sometime recently (I assume August 1st) they updated their website to say “Shipping in September!”. Sometime in the last few days they took down the page all together, and trying to access it results in a “This product is not available in your country” message.
Does anybody know what’s happening with this? I haven’t been able to find any official communication from either Murena or Fairphone about it, and they haven’t responded to my support ticket on the issue. My last phone broke in a way I can’t repair and I’d like to find an answer to this so I know if I need to cancel my order and look elsewhere.
I checked with the sales team and this was the response:
…Product is available in US (pre-order) , you can’t see it when you select the phone in european shop, then change the country to US. You need to first go to US shop, then choose the US model of FP6…
I also found that the country setting (USA) sometimes gets lost again when you click one of the other top bar menu items. Needs to get re-set to USA sometimes.
I emailed support a few days ago about the shipping ETA change, waiting for a reply. I’m basically traveling outside the US starting late September, so if the preorders ship later in September, I’d prefer not get the phone delivered while I’m not home
