It’s all in the title.
Bliss infuriates me
OpenSource launchers are limited or abandoned.
I find that a good Launcher and customization of the interface is all that e/os is missing to be perfect.

Since Murena like their own Bliss launcher very much and apparently many users like it as it is, too, you are left with such subjective sentiment and nothing much will change in /e/OS in the way you want. That’s more safe to assume at least than betting on substantive launcher change.
Even if they are abandoned they might work fine as they are?
(The old Lawnchair version I’m using sure does.)
Did you already check out Trebuchet from LineageOS on /e/OS 2.x? …
I’m of the persuasion that Bliss is pretty good for a launcher that uses the ‘sea of icons’ paradigm that the iPhone uses, but as someone who prefers the drawer-of-applications option, Nova Launcher still works perfectly with /e/OS T, and it’s got hundreds of tweaks you can optimize to your heart’s content.
Salut
New Lawnchair works fine for me
Lawnchair 14 based on the Pixel launcher is the option that fits me. Really customizable and elegant !
Hmmm interesting
I just realized that I tried F-droid’s Lawnchair, but it hasn’t been updated since 2019.
I will try the latest version.
Thanks to you
TinyBit by Tbog is perfect for me.
The ‘icons on a grid’ launchers remind me too much of the old windows 3.1 days when people kept their icons ligned up on the desktop. I’ve been content with the KISS launcher.
Bliss launcher is so horrible.
Unfortunately, we all have different preferences. 1 format can never please everyone.
This is why I encourage all creators to make advanced customization options, I spend a lot of time asking for it everywhere.
There are so many launchers out there, try them until you find one that suits you. That’s the beauty of android and Open Source software, you get to try stuff and customize your device pretty much however you want.
I very much like Bliss launcher. It’s simple, fast and does the job.
Yeah, but most of them are just crap.
80% of them have damned trackers.
The half of the remaining 20% is search based. I never got familiar with that concept. Searching something is a strategy when you can’t remember where it is. This way to do your things is much more complicated than it could be. And it doesn’t get shorter or faster when you have letter bars.
The half of the remaining 10% has some features you don’t like: an unchangeable Google search bar, round corners (I hate round corners like the pest), automatic sort algorithms sorting your things as they want (not you), sudden crashes, or missing features like the absence of notification bullets or not being able to have gaps between the icons. Some use remarkable animated visual effects to impress you and your childish friends, but the profit for you is near zero.
What remains is indeed only a handful, two or three, you would use. And then you see, the last version is from 2020.
