Where is Murenas UnifiedNLP Backend?

Before Mozilla shut down their NLP Backend (for Location Data), Murena used Mozilla’s to get Location Data. But I also remember one that simply remembered Location Data.

After Mozilla shut down their Service, Murena introduced their own one. (Version v2.1)

But the App ‘My Location’ does not list any of them. I also cant configure them in the settings anymore.

As i had issues with my Location beeing inaccurate, i installed ‘Deja Vu’ (it also remembers Location Data). And i can see the Backend in ‘My Location’.

Why is that? Where did the Backend that simply remembered and Murenas Backend go to?

Does anyone else have the same issue or is it just me?
(Or am i simply misunderstanding something?)

Its in System->microg->Location.
If u scroll down it says “Use location system from eOS” or sth similar.
In the 3-dot menu, the service Url could be changed.
But still it seems to still somehow use Mozilla, but i dont know too much about it honestly.

@KernelPanicake is quite correct in finding where to set location in microG. [1]

This link is from June, just after the change Testing the positon.xyz network location server - confusing · Issue #2422 · microg/GmsCore · GitHub.

We see much the same point as yours @mitu and a reply from Marvin Testing the positon.xyz network location server - confusing · Issue #2422 · microg/GmsCore · GitHub but the whole thread is worth reading imho.

FWIW I am currently using beacon rather than position.xyz, both seem stable, beacon happens to be less variable near my home.

Thank you two for your reply.
I didn’t know there where two ‘Location’ settings in e…

My Settings show both the Location Service from e and Mozilla.

But the App ‘My Location’ still only shows ‘Deja Vu’ (installed using App Lounge)

Or is this the “Network” Part? (With an accuracy of over 800m)
