WiFi calling not working

Well, as of now VoWiFi on Emerald officially isn’t supported / doesn’t work:

“For now we do not support VoWifi en /e/, we couldn’t get it work”

It’s been a year since this was first reported, just wondering if there’s any plans to fix this in the current version (R) or will there be an upgrade soon to either S or T that will take care of it?

Thanks!

Just noticed the issue I had opened on Gitlab was deleted, so I guess I’ll take that as a no.

:frowning:

I do not see https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/backlog/-/issues/5417 deleted, but did you close it ?

No, I did not close it.

I am wondering if this happened from an accidental button press.

Just updated to v1.17S (stable), WiFi calling appears to be working!!

Thanks to Sahil Sonar and Team!

I’m also using a Teracube 2e emerald and I’m updated to v1.17. WiFi calling would be a big help for me, so I just tried it, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Did you need to change any settings, or was turning Use Wi-Fi calling on all that was necessary?

I also had to have Wi-Fi calling set up through the provider, it was a separate step and wasn’t done automatically when I signed up.

I use T Mobile through Red Pocket, and the APN I use is fast.t-mobile.com. I think it’s a stock APN.

I did see where there were still some issues with other providers and APN’s. I don’t know if they’ve gotten it resolved yet.

Ok, I’m also using the T-Mobile network, but through Mint.

Seems like I need to work with T-Mobile to figure out how to adjust the APN settings on the Teracube. I’m not super familiar with cell phone settings-do I have that right?

Yes, start with Mint support and make sure your account is set up for Wi-Fi calling. Once that’s done (if it’s not already), they should also be able to walk you through the APN settings.

As an alternative, you could try following the instructions at the link below to use the phones IMEI number to check to see if your account is WiFi enabled.
