Using an S8 SM-G950F
In “About phone” the mac address is different from MAC address shown in terminal emulator (ip link show).
Which address is the correct one?
Hi @Sheldor. My experience is that the /e/OS version ‘Q’ spoofs MAC addresses for greater security- my suspicion is that this is what you are seeing. Of course, I may be wrong and someone with more experience in the /e/cosystem than I have will come along shortly and correct me.
Either way, I’ve found that the MAC address shown in “About Phone” is the physical, “correct”, unspoofed one. Hope that helps you out.
