I have a new Sony Xperia 10 III but I don’t want Google. The device is quite futureproof: it is suitable for 5G and can have VoLTE. It is as narrow as a compact phone, but also longer than a compact phone.
Will it even be possible to have /E/ OS on it?
Hi, sorry to exhume an old post but I use E 2.9 on the Xperia 10 III for daily use since 1 week. I recommand using a GSI, very compatible and totally functional with small tweaks (PHH treble in qualcomm menu quote “use alternate audio policy” and misc menu quote “use alternate way to detect headsets”):
I use the “bfn” (a/b, with microg, no superuser) image
I was going to sell this phone, but the Jack/sd card is so important for me that I gave it a try and it works well. Big up to Pierre-Hugues HUSSON who struggles to make Treble usable for us.
Note that if your phone is Treble compatible you can upgrade to the last Android version even if the manufacturer didn’t port the phone. I my case I use Android 14 on my Xperia 10 III even if the last operating system version officially compatible is Android 13.
