It makes sense, because no matter how much Microsoft improves Windows, it still sucks as long as it inherits the same crappy architecture. Also, it may give a boost to the Linux ecosystem, so it would finally give us a distro with a human’s face.
I am really not sure if this is good or bad. Microsoft used to fight alot against open source and community driven projects before. I prefer that they stay away from the linux kernel. They are trying to push DX11 modules in the kernel already, but to use them you have to get there proprietary modules lol !
