Wireless charging works or not?

Hello everyone. I would like to check with users if your phone behaves strangely when using wireless charging.

For me it looks like this: my phone is turned off, then I put it on a wireless charger, in my case it is Baseus and I see how my phone turns on, instead of charging while turned off.

My phone is Samsung S7

I do have some troubles with my pixel 7a (lynx) running latest e/OS 2.5, but I’m not sure if it’s linked to your issue. It might also be linked to my wireless charger which I got for very cheap

Anyways, when I try to wirelessly charge my phone, it sometimes loops over being connected/disconnected, playing the plug-in plug-out sounds repeatedly. As a result, it doesn actually charge, and I do not dare leaving it charging as it feels like it’s screaming in pain.

With a pixel 7 (panther) and /e/ 2.5, wireless charging works fine in my car.

Samsung Note 10+ (2.5-T) works
Poco F5 Pro (2.5-U unofficial) works too

Samsung S7 (SM-G930F) with 2.5-T :
when the device is on, it works
when the device is off, it has a similar behavior, with a samsung wireless charger : first the battery screen appear, then the white “samsung Galaxy S7 POWERED BY android” over a black background appear and disappear multiple time then, on the tenth boot, it finally turns on.
If I hold the phone while booting loop, it starts on too.

Seems like a very minor bug, worth creating a bug report on the gitlab ?

same for me,
in case the phone was shut down from what I recall it was not always like this - in previous versions there was only the battery-charging-circle-symbol and no boot-behaviour
but shutting down the phone + wireless charging is such a rare combination for me that I cannot tell the exact version that changed the behaviour
and for me it´s a minor bug that I would not bother creating an issue.
But do so if it bothers you!

my thought exactly,
it might bother others enough to take action

Thank you very much for your answers.

Thank you for checking on your phones.

I think this is a bug or something like that, since the correct behavior of wireless charging when the phone is turned off is when the user sees a glowing white circle and charging occurs without turning on the phone.

It’s a pity that there are no developers or guides (developer assistants) here who could pass on this information. I don’t think that every user can register on gitlub…

I have to investigate further, but it could also be the case for the S7 Edge (SM-G935F)

Edit : the boot occurs after 12 times for my device. Anyway, the behavior is the same. Not really a big problem, but maybe opening a gitlab ticket is the right thing to do.

I have tried another wireless charger which worked fine.
I can confirm my issue was because of the low quality charger, and that I should have known better than to buy this shabby looking piece of plastic :smiling_face_with_tear:

Not murena nor e/os 's fault !

Hi. Please tell me what fast charger did you use when you had success (if I understood you correctly)?

When I wrote my question here I bought a new device “Baseus” it is Chinese but is considered a premium brand among Chinese manufacturers.

I have several phones and only e/os has this behavior… that is, it doesn’t work and the phone turns on instead of showing the charge on a TURNED OFF phone

I’m not sure of the brand. It was a friend’s wireless charger, but it was marked as one that would work for iphones.

My friend is an apple user and only buys magsafe compatible devices.
