I noticed there is an AOSP16-based /e/OS image for XA2. Version # is 3.7, but my phone is on 3.7.1 with a15 (and there also is a newer 3.7.3 available), so when I try to install in recovery mode, it tells me it will downgrade the phone.
Is it ok to install anyway, or should I rather wait for a newer version (and not install the 3.7.3-a15 meanwhile)?
Also, is there anything new in a16 that makes the upgrade worthwhile?
You should check what both version reclaim for first install.
If it’s the same firmware level, I would say that you can have a go from 3.7.x A15 to 3.x A16.
Never tried it personally, thought.
Always a good idea to take a full backup before proceeding.
The natural thing to do is an Android version upgrade where you avoid “downdate” of /e/OS version.
Sometimes it is a good idea to wait for a new version to bed in. XA2 was mentioned Week 20, Development and Testing Updates - #13 by Manoj.
I see. I guess I’ll just wait until next months for the next upgrade since it won’t receive a 3.7.3.
