I would like to see this device supported as well

So would I, or something similar.
I think there is some crossover between the privacy fans and digital minimalism fans.
So a phone like this would be great.

Dear /e/OS team and community,

I would like to request support for the Xiaomi QIN F21 Pro in the /e/OS ecosystem. I believe this device would be perfect for /e/OS and could create something truly special for people who want both privacy and a healthier relationship with technology.

The QIN F21 Pro is a unique smartphone that looks and feels like an old Nokia phone but runs Android 11. It has a small 2.8-inch touchscreen and a physical keypad, which makes it perfect for people who want to reduce their screen time and social media addiction while still having access to essential apps like WhatsApp, email, and maps. The small screen naturally discourages endless scrolling and mindless phone use, but you can still do everything you need to do.

Combining this phone with /e/OS would create the perfect device for people who care about privacy AND want to break free from smartphone addiction. Right now, if you want privacy, you usually have to choose between a regular smartphone with all its distractions, or a basic “dumb” phone that can’t run the apps you actually need for work and life. The QIN F21 Pro with /e/OS would solve this problem by giving people a phone that respects their privacy, works with Murena’s services, and naturally encourages moderate, mindful use.

This combination would appeal to so many people: parents who want to set a good example for their kids, professionals who need to stay connected but want to focus better at work, anyone trying to do a digital detox without going completely offline, and privacy-conscious users who are tired of being tracked by big tech companies. It would also be great for companies that want to give employees work phones that aren’t distracting but still fully functional.

The phone runs Android 11 and uses a MediaTek processor, so it should be relatively straightforward to port /e/OS to it. There’s already an active community of users working with this device, and I know many people would be excited to test and support this project. The original request for this device was made back in 2021, and interest has only grown as more people become aware of privacy issues and smartphone addiction problems.

I think this could be a game-changer for /e/OS - it would show that privacy-focused technology doesn’t have to mean giving up on modern life, and it would help /e/OS reach people who might not otherwise consider switching from their current phone. It’s not just about adding another device to the supported list; it’s about creating a new category of phone that puts users’ wellbeing first while protecting their privacy.

Would the /e/OS team be interested in exploring this possibility? I believe this could be one of the most impactful device ports for the project, and I’m sure many community members would be willing to help make it happen.

Thank you for considering this request and for all your work on giving people control over their digital lives.
