IIt remains a mystery to me why e/OS/ 2.0v is still running on A13 .
While others are already working on A14 Lineage with MicroG, .Crdroid Bliss rom and already roms have been spotted with A15.

Why is it taking so long for e/OS/ to scale up to a new Android version

Hello,
Could you please provide me with some information about installing /e/OS?
I have read the installation instructions (Install /e/OS on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro - “sweet”) several times, but it is still not clear to me which recovery image and which version of the firmware I should download and install.

Here are the details of my phone’s current system:
MIUI version: 14.0.9.0(TKFEUXM)
Android version: 13 TKQ1.221013.002
Android security update: 01. november 2023.
Thanks in advance for helping!

Hi @jarastartalek welcome to the /e/ forum.

So you have an EU/EEA version, so you would check the EEA variant quoted as

Redmi Note 10 Pro EEA - V14.0.9.0.TKFEUXM

You say 14.0.9.0(TKFEUXM) … remove brackets, add dot … 14.0.9.0.TKFEUXM … is a match.
Check with a reliable updater Redmi Note 10 Pro EEA MIUI V14.0.9.0.TKFEUXM Update | XM Firmware Updater

The advice

Download the required firmware for your model.

Is in the event that you are not on the correct build. I would say you are good to go.

The download of e-Recovery and ROM might look confusing to new users. Download Latest as this image from /e/OS community sweet download

Thank you very much for your help!

I had to wait a week before I could unlock the bootloader, but after that the installation went very smoothly: I just followed the instructions, everything was perfectly logical and understandable, I followed the steps one by one, and it worked.

I’ve been using /e/OS for a few days now, everything is great, and it almost perfectly meets my expectations.

But I found two problems with it:

  1. The camera only works in the basic mode and there is some macro option as well. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro camera supports these modes:
    • 108 MP, f/1.9, 26 mm (wide), 1/1.52″, 0.7 µm, PDAF
    • 8 MP, f/2.2, 118° (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12 µm
    • 5 MP, f/2.4 (macro), AF
    • 2 MP, f/2.4 (depth)
Among these, the ultrawide mode is definitely missing — yet I really need it. Is there a solution?
  2. In Find My Device, the SMS does not send the coordinates; instead, it returns the code that was sent from the other device. Before anyone asks whether I turned on location services and granted precise location permissions to the Find My Device app, let me answer right away: yes, I enabled location services, and for example the Maps app works perfectly. And no, I did not grant precise location permissions because the Find My Device app does not appear at all in Settings → Apps list. The only settings I can adjust within the app itself are “Activate the app” and “Set the code” — there are no other options.
    Can you help me, please?
    Thanks in advance!

Hey, Can you include the DURESS PIN as well on your next update? where its safety is to wipe the phone or reset automatically, when one is forced to enter the pin

And yes please work on the functions of the camera as well? The camera doesn’t recognize

QR-Code. Thanks.

Hi all,
I am trying to convert my Note 10 Pro to /e/OS but running into issues. I am in the /e/OS recovery menu, can select Apply update and then do the flash of the new image (I tried the EU version “miui_SWEETGlobal_V14.0.9.0.TKFMIXM_b774d114f4_13.0“ as well as the global version “miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V14.0.9.0.TKFEUXM_79417d5d99_13.0“), but it hangs/stops at 47%. I know that’s also what the guide says, but it stops there with the notification on the phone that “signature validation failed”. When I try through the adb sideload command it does that (yet ends with “Total xfer: 1.00x“), and I also tried copying the img files to an SD-card and installed directly from the phone. I can say “continue”, but then it cuts out with the following notification:
”ERROR: recovery: error: 21
Installing update…
Error: recovery: Denying OTA because it’s SPL downgrade
Install completed with status 1.
Installation aborted”

When it then asks whether I want to reboot, I simply fails to boot and goes back into /e/OS bootloader with the notification that it failed to load. I tried to do all the formats, and tried to reinstall the recovery image already
Has anyone experienced this as well? Any tips?

The Stock firmware requirement is PRE install … please read the instructions
Install /e/OS on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro - “sweet” in a new light

Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is currently using the firmware version mentioned below.

with the emphasis on before.

This is the Upgrade firmware link Upgrade Firmware for Xiaomi devices for use before starting the /e/OS actual install. May also be useful XM Firmware Updater.

In other words this prerequisite is to ensure that /e/OS is installed on the correct Xiaomi foundation.

You mention trying different firmwares but you will really want to return to the regional variant which was previously working, that is, as it was sold in your region.

I followed the guide to the letter initially and got the error right away. I was on the *exact* Xiaomi OS version that was stated as required in the article. I only did the format of the data after it doesn’t work (after trying like 3 times…)

Can you advise on how to continue?

After you have e-Recovery installed the next step would be

the Format data episode, then

 adb sideload downloaded_file_name.zip

but this .zip will be the one from /e/OS community sweet download.

Is it a bit confusing that the downloads are all in one block

  • prerequisite firmwares
    • a
    • b
    • c
  • e-Recovery
  • main /e/OS ROM
    • and effective duplication of same url for e-Recovery and ROM

How to continue? Is e-Recovery still working? If yes hopefully you can just sideload the /e/OS ROM. Latest is the filename e-3.5-a15-20260212581008-community-sweet.zip … so

adb sideload e-3.5-a15-20260212581008-community-sweet.zip

Awesome! It worked right away when I downloaded the (actual) /e/OS community sweet image and did the sideload. Thanks for your help!
