I’d like to know if anyone here uses Yamahas smart pianist app and has connected his Yamaha device (e.g. CSP) with USB. I tried and failed. It seems to me I have not understood how the USB has to be setup in e/os so that the smart pianist app recognises the connected device. Any hints on that?
Thanks in advance!
Stephan
niche question. At times it helps to go with keyword search through the forum and DM a user directly that runs the same app / periphery as you. Yeah but I can’t unearth anything here, in microg trackers, r/fossdroid or r/lineageos on Yamaha apps and devices
I am not completely sure if I get your point. I did search for the relevant keywords here and had no hits at all. This is why I created this thread. Nevertheless my direction was not debugging the problem but simply ask if anyone has made it work and can tell me how. I am not sure if this is a general problem or rather a question of correct USB setup on my side. I was looking for a “short-path’’ to a solution.
Still I want to point out that there seems a huge deficit in the music area for android and friends. Whereas apple hardware always works out-of-the-box android (and e/os) does not. So I’d say e/os can conquer a very new field of users in this area if someone takes a deep look in this area.
maybe you can get some advice out of the Smart Pianist Playstore user feedback / reviews.
Arrow to the right of the review headline gives access to them all. Change hl=en url parameter to a language you can also read to get more entries. Scroll a few times down to load them and search with ctrl+f for “otg”
In the meantime I was able to use smart pianist on an out-of-the-box Galaxytab S9FE+ without any problems. But with e/os on FP5 it does not even connect to a CSP.
