Anybody familiar with the Yivi app? I tried to scan my passport (new function), but it said I had to update the app for that. App Lounge did not offer the update. So I reinstalled the app, but now it fails at opening it:
‘Timeout: enrollment status could not be determined within 15 seconds’
I also restarted the phone, but no dice.
interesting app / concept. It is published on F-Droid also. One issue with that: as F-Droid can lag and AppLounge will prefer F-Droid over Playstore for the same appid (org.irmacard.cardemu), Playstore can be more current. (As of know 5th Nov vs Oct 14).
If you want latest, you’d need to use Aurora.
The FD build seems broken to me atm vs what the Playstore ships.
I have the Yivi app on my /e/os phone (since it was Irma) and is running without an issue. I am running the AppLounge version.
Great app indeed, this privacy-by-design wallet app should be more widely adopted!
Edit: Sorry, should have stuck to English:
Do you have the new version of the Yivi app and were you able to scan your passport?
I am also very happy with the concept and the app, till the day before yesterday that is. Although I have never come across a website where I could use the app. Most sites stay with big tech?
I indeed see now that I am using the 7.10.0 version. When I try to scan My passport, it says I need to update my app:
On Applounge, version 7.11.0 update is available, but when I try to update the app in Applounge I get this error:
On F-Droid, version 7.11.0 is not available (yet).
So no, I have not been able to scan my passport ![]()
(I have created an issue for this in the Yivi git: Issue with updating Yivi app in relation to passport issuer · Issue #41 · privacybydesign/go-passport-issuer · GitHub)
I have been in touch with Yivi support. I will update when there is news.
Interesting: I do not get the offer to update to 7.11.
wrong repo to report this. Use this repo. Sig mismatch comes from different signing keys fdroid vs playstore I guess. It’s more of an AppL issue or release management. You could just deinstall and use Aurora for the playstore version.
He all, this is Dibran from Yivi. We have identified an issue with a broken FDroid build. We will fix this as soon as possible, for now we will disable MRZ scanning with the camera, FDroid users will have to enter date of birth, date of expiry, and document number by hand, untill we have found an alternative which works and is properly licensed.
Apologies and thanks for your patience.
I noticed that version 7.10.0 was added on FDroid on Oct 14, 2025. It still does not open on my phone with e/OS: ‘Expected default keyshare scheme pbdf could not be found in configuration’
Kind regards
I am on Yivi version 7.11.2 now, but it still keeps giving an error when opening. Any chance of version 7.12 coming to e/OS soon?
Yivi 7.12 has been available available on FDroid for some time now, but App Lounge seems to be stuck on Yivi 7.11.2.
I could go to FDroid of course, but that should not be necessary, right? I’d like to use my e/OS phone with as little fiddling as possible.
(Teracube 2e zirconia, e/OS 3.3 Android 12)
It’s not stuck, it just takes a while for it to become available in App Lounge. (1-2 weeks)
I think CleanAPK needs some time to process all the updates.
Thank you. Good to know. Version 7.12 is on FDroid from December 18, so maybe just a few more days for it to get to the App Lounge. Hopefully I get to open the app again then.
So the new Yivi app version has indeed arrived in the App Lounge.
This version was not aware that I had already added various data in an older version, which is a pity. Also I had to restart the phone before the new Yivi app version was ready to be used. (At fist it gave an error when trying to add my e-mail address.) So everything seems to be OK
I just wanted to share that one maybe has to restart the phone for the new Yivi app version to work. Could have been a fluke though.
