Youtube not working in background in browser

Hello!

After the eSIM issue in Fairphone 4, I activated dev options, updated the phone, and the eSIM works, but strangely enough, I have now one issue: youtube doesn’t work in background in the /e/ browser, which is strange, since it always used to work just fine.

Any suggestions on now to fix this? I don’t see much point in having Brave and Bromite in the same phone.

I’m having the same issue on 2.7 t. I usually use Firefox, and videos play fine in the background there.

you can simply use “NewPipe”

Not fond of this idea, since:

a) Newpipe doesn’t preserve history and the like
b) This used to work just fine previously in the /e/browser - and it works in Brave
c) I don’t like the idea of having multiple apps - I don’t even use banking apps when I can log in by browser.
