Zenfone 8 - (un)able to unlock bootloader - Asus advised unlock's come back till the end of October :)

Hello, from what I have noticed on the forum and on the Asus’ website there is no option to unblock bootloader for Zenfone 8 at the moment.

Do you think it is worth waiting for this? What I mean is I’ve started thinking about getting a new phone as Asus is never known when he will return the bootloader.

And the question is what other phone could you recommend? I must admit that now I am looking for something cheaper as Asus disappointed me with removing the bootloader and I do not want to invest again in something expensive :wink:

I stumbled on an article on GSM Arena where it stated that Zenfone 9 and 10 also can’t be unlocked at the moment. It is a Asus Problem in general, not the Phone.

I have mailed Asus on this matter. I received information that Asus is planning to give back option to unblock bootloader on Asus Zenfone 8 till the end of October this year :smile:
