Android auto Fairphone 6+

Bonjour

Hi @pepette9398 welcome to the /e/ user forum.

There is documentation here

For Android-auto

Tip: The current implementation supports /e/OS versions A13, A14 and A15. It requires the installation and use of certain Google applications. We are actively exploring solutions to eliminate these dependencies.

Today it does not make sense at all to use android auto and /e/ OS. If you need android auto that much, then simply use a normal android.

This is not true, because you can still use advanced privacy & much More. Fake location etc.

And you can also use fake Google APPs. Take a look Here: How to run Android Auto without Google apps

I installed the stubs and it works fine without original Google apps

Hi I found the special access settings for apps → access to Android Auto Stubs modes and I enabled it. Is that enough, or do I need to install other stubs?

I installed the various apps as instructed on the website, but it doesn’t offer me the option to configure Android Auto; it displays an error message.
I tested it with a FP5 and it worked correctly. I don’t know if it’s the FP6+ that’s the problem. Is there another solution besides Android Auto?

did you go to settings → Apps → Android Auto → Developer Settings → tik trust unknown sources?

I cannot open the Android Auto app, nor uninstall it, nor reinstall it. How do I uninstall it?

Settings → APPs → Android Auto

And then you can choose “additional settings in APP”

I tried, but it didn’t work. I managed to get Android Auto working by installing E/OS version 3.0.4, installing Android Auto, and then updating E/OS to version 4.2. It took a while, but it works.

There is a similar situation here. I have a Fairphone 6+ with /e/OS 4.2

In settings → apps I don’t see the Android Auto app. However the App lounge tells me something different:

I did not install this myself! It was already there. I can’t open this app, I cant uninstall this app. It’s simply not in the list of installed apps. If it’s not in the list I cant change the settings.
