Android Auto with FP6 does not work for me

I am a proud new owner of an FP6 with /e/OS. So far, everything I use my phone for works fine. I tried to follow the installation process for using Android Auto in my car, but I ran into an error that states: “Android Auto must be a part of the system of the phone and is not available.”
Is there a workaround for this, or do I have to live with it for the time being?

seems a bit different wording than “Android Auto was not preinstalled on this device. …” - I’d think it’s this thread - Android Auto infamous Error 22

The existing solution worked for A14, but A15 users miss out. If I look at the git I see recent activity to make it work so the next update or one after that will very likely improve this.

My FP5 is also failing starting back around 3.1.4 or the version before that. My wife’s FP4 has been working flawlessly so not sure what changed in FP5. I was hoping the recent 3.2 release would of fixed something but nothing has changed unfortunately.

Maybe affects also FP5?

FP5 official can be on A15 if user upgraded, FP4 atm still on A14. That’s the reason. The split is on the Android version, not the device

FP5 user here, confirming!
