:backhand_index_pointing_right: Location broken on FP3 fix coming with v3.3

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Users reported Advance Privacy starting to work erratically yesterday. One suggestion was that it could be because of the Daylight saving switch. Temporary fixes shared in the same thread include disabling notification or data clearing . Issue reported to developers to resolve in code.

:triangular_flag: FP6 Random reboot issue

Issue reported on stock ROM as well. /e/OS developers are working with Fairphone developers for a resolution. Team has not been able to reproduce the issue. Request users facing this issue to share logs in the issue on gitlab . We are looking for details like the Service Provider details, information if reboot happened while travelling anything specific. Also wanted to confirm if the reboots started with v3.1.1 or were you experiencing them earlier as well.

Click the arrow on the left for details on the logs we require

We need two logs.

Log 1: Boot Sequence Log

The goal here is to capture the entire boot process, from the very start until the device is fully ready.

Trigger the Boot: Manually reboot the phone. Start the log as soon as the Fairphone splash logo is shown

adb logcat -b all > boot_log.txt

Stop the Log: Wait until you see the homescreen and the device is fully settled.

Log 2: Continuous Log until Issue Occurs

The goal here is to capture a long-running log that will catch the moment the issue happens.

Trigger the Boot: Manually reboot the phone. Start the log as soon as the Fairphone splash logo is shown

adb logcat -b all > continuous_log.txt

Reproduce the Issue: Do not stop the log. Keep it running until the phone automatically reboots on it’s own, ie. reproducing the issue mentioned

does this mean that the devices which are not A15 (V) in 3.2 due to build failure will be dropped?
devices from this list:

or will they get A14 in 3.2 instead?

Devices will not be dropped. If a build fails, we will share the reason for the build failure. The device will continue receiving A14 or whichever version builds it was receiving earlier.
If we plan to drop a device, the reason will be shared.
At present I do not have the final lists. Should get it later this week. Will share the details on this forum, once I have received it.

Thanks again for the weekly report. Before the new design with emojis everywhere it was clear what was new compared to last week. Now, even though it’s more pretty, I have trouble seeing at first glance which are real news from this week and which ones are copied from last week…

Almost everything is copied from last week! There are only minor changes which will be marked with a :new_button: If there is fresh development that is added separately and gets carried forward to the next week.

It will get direct OTA A13 - >A15 upgrade I think…

The v3.2 release has started. It is a staggered release as always. We would release builds for a couple of devices (selected randomly) every day.
Release dates are from 28 Oct to 3 Nov.

For those who are new to /e/OS the reason behind the staggered releases:
We prefer to publish a small subset of builds as the number of devices supported is 200 +.
Releasing all of them at the same time would overwhelm the servers, besides impact download speeds.
It also gives us an opportunity, based on user response, to stop the release, in case there are any issues that slipped through the various rounds of QA testing.

Thank you!

This is the list of devices which will not be getting builds in this release (v3.2)

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Not getting the A15 build as part of v3.2

  • Xiaomi Redmi 12C earth
  • Release A15 build failed
  • A14 available on v3.2

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Not getting the A14 builds in v3.2

  • Motorola Moto One Vision/Motorola P50 kane
  • F(x)tec ProΒΉ X pro1x
  • Nubia Mini 5G TP1803

These builds failed due to last minute upstream change in code. We will try to build again if not possible then these devices will get a build along with v3.3 (ETA possibly by end of Nov)

Hi Manoj, I can see that the latest (V3.2) community build for Pixel 8 (shiba) is available but I can not see the latest (V3.2) Official build.
Will the Official eOS 3.2 be available in the mentioned time frame too (28 Oct to 3 Nov)?

Official always comes couple days later than community

Hi.

Does this mean that pixel 5 redfin will get the a15 update.

Thanks in advance

It has since july :

Downloads for redfin

It seems that only the community build A15 is available.
Will the A15 Official be available too?

I need to type 20 characters to show this quote

Only on the community release, not the official one.

Hey there,

Currently, I’ve got a FP5 running on default A15. Since the last security patch release I wanted to flash my device to /e/os. However, there’s some sort of sync issue. On the FP5 page it announces the latest release of /e/os A15, but it doesn’t show up in the download section at all.

Will it be available soon? I’d be thrilled! \^o^/

I might not have been clear. I was enquiring about wether the pixel 5 would receive the upgrade to a15 or stay on android 13
