AOK Mein Leben - ePA elektronische Patientenakte - e/OS 2.8 root detected

Dear e/OS Team,

i habe recently updated my operating system on my Fairphone 4, today i tried to launch “AOK Mein Leben” after i have not used it for a month, it worked before and now it tells me i have no acces because my phone is rooted, i also sent this to the App Developers as a mail with contact@e.email.

Did you changed anything in e/OS 2.8 so that this error could occur or did the App developers changed anything to prevent some unknown OS or maybe restricted the tolerancy in any other way?

I have attached some screenshots to help you with this.

Best regards
Richard

Thanks for letting me know, I encountered exactly the same issue (on my FP3+ running 2.8-a14-community) myself a few days ago. However, I had not initialized my account on the app before, so in my case it was an attempt to set up the app for the first time. Good to hear it did work right before 2.8, sounds like there is hope.

I have to add that my banking apps including secure tan are working, but idk if they are as secure as the AOK app and checking for root or what AOK do differently here from like 1 month before.

My OS Version.

For the ,not rooted, no superuser and no busybox" screenshot i would need another post, but i think its enough to mention it here

I don’t use the app but I gave it a try to install and run it. I use TrackerControl above AdvancedPrivacy (location and ip is off). Installation was via Aurora Store, my version of e/OS/ v2.8-a14 on a Pixel 4a.

The app opens and loads data for some time then I can choose which region/Bundesland I want. I didn’t continue from there

Edit: Even on my testing device where I used App Lounge it worked.

ty for your reply. i have deactivated the tracker blocking and location feature in Advanced Privacy, i am also not using tor regularely. i restarted and it did not helped. also “AOK Mein Leben” does not have any trackers known to advanced privacy as it seems.

i have only two apps deactivated: maps and music, no system apps.

i will try again and reinstall the AOK App. I can not disable Advanced Privacy fully because its protected.

i tried to install it on another device (galaxy tab 9SE) with aurora store and since 25. Feb. 2025 there are many users commenting its not working due to incompatiblity on many different devices.

so i will close this for e/OS. its seems not to be an OS problem.

on my galaxy tab with shelter its working.no google services or apps activated.

Did the AOK App get a recent updates? There are many companies whose apps detect “root” or even more stupid “jailbreak”. Those apps will not work whatever cloaking act you try. There is something else they are checking, I don’t know what. Examples are Payback, Ticketmaster, eBay (cannot log in) etc. Those companies just suck.

Maybe it is similar to this problem with Revolut.

Hello. Maybe AOK changed something.
I am with a different health provider in Germany and the app does ot work at all but they clearly said (the IT services from the health service provider) that they don’t have an interest to have their app running on “non-official systems”
You could try to contact AOK maybe they have a more open ear for Android derivatives such as /e/. Just explain well, what /e/ is and that it uses microG.
