Hi everyone,
I bought a Google Pixel 7 pro and I set /e/OS/2.3-t.
I installed about a dozen applications on it, but there is issue on 2 : osmand~ and VLC
Others are from f-droid (not installed) like nextcloud news, quickdic, but on these 2, impossible! /e/OS tried to install and finish with “Retry”
I don’t know why.
To solve this problem, I installed f-droid, and install them. It’s ok. But, for instance, osmand~ has a lower version 4.8.5 instead of 4.8.6
i have a mi9t with 2.3… i try your 2 apps to download and install. i have no mistake by Installation all ok. you can try, delete cache in the APP settings (applounge). and try it again or you can try a Smartphone restart.
I had a Xiaomi mimix2 and no issue with VLC and osmand~. I already clear cache and storage and reboot smartphone without success
device download it, try to install, and “retry”
Edit : i also turned off advanced privacy
I repeat, i can install other open-source app. But no VLC or osmand~
I’ve got 100 Go of free space
I tried to stop Advanced privacy completely, same thing
Like you can see from App Lounge, I installed f-droid remote for VLC, but VLC impossible
Anonymous logged, only open source apps no googleapps or pwa
No tor, to VPN, classical Wifi.
Try data mobile connection also, always “retry”
Perhaps I must factory reset ?
I’m too lazy to do a factory reset and then configure everything. I just install f-droid, it’s easier.
But for me, with or without factory reset, it’s a big unexplained bug.
Thank you all very much for suggesting a solution.
You have right, perhaps in 2.4.
I was also thinking of a file system problem, if directory permission is broken an /e/os cannot install downloaded file. (or permission of files is inadequate inside archive)
So, I will patiently waiting 2.4
In case it helps anyone, I was also persistently getting Retry when installing an app. I tried the above things to no avail. In the end I found that the app is no longer on f-droid; yet App lounge was showing it.
I found the developer’s github site and it’s marked as archived. I grabbed the apk there and did a successful side load. (It seemed safe since I have a long history using this app (Cythara). Is that dangerous thinking?
Anyway, it would be very nice if App Lounge gave a more detailed failure message.
Thanks to the team that I’m sure is working to the bone.
