Trying to install an app on App Lounge (doesn’t seem to exist on Aurora Store) and I get the error of not being able to install due to content restrictions or age stuff in my area, even though the app is marked as rated 3+ in age…
Tried restarting and changing location in Advanced Privacy but nothing works. Not sure if this is an issue with the app store or just the app itself since nothing like this has ever happened

The repository you try to get it from has a permission on e/OS to download?
If not usually the system offers taking you to settings, so it’s not the case I reckon.
How about checking if Parental Controls not activated inadvertently/by mistake on the phone?
3+ ? What app is it out of curiosity?
I will not insist if You don’t share it.
P.S. Have You checked F-Droid or APKpure for that app?
P.S.* Do You use VPN - can You try to change location using VPN?
I’ve always downloaded on either Aurora Store or App Lounge, never had issues. Doesn’t have any options, just message saying it can’t due to content restrictions or age stuff of the account
None of that is activated, seems to only happen with this particular app. It’s called Pudgy Party or something like that
I found it on APK Pure and downloaded all right on e/OS 4.0 if that’s the app you were after.
But it behaved ‘funny’ saying things about ‘server going through updates’ or similar and annoyingly stuck on my screen. I got rid of that app. But, it downloaded fine from APKpure.
I wouldn’t say the app was fine, but that’s for you to determine.

@aibd I had exactly same thoughts Iain and searched for categories which confirmed indeed that in most countries 3+ would be age related and something like above three years old. Hence I think the block refers to something more complex here, but I managed to download that ‘purgy party’ app from APKpure but the app did not work anyway 
P.S. I wonder what @SD9 can say about it.
Weirdly enough, I can’t seem to find it in neither App Lounge or Aurora Store. I was only able to see it through a link from bit.ly
So, clicking the link takes me to the App Lounge and when I click install (says it’s 0.98 GB), it says: App Unavailable… typically due to content restrictions based on age or location."
Confirmed it is rated PEGI 3, not the stars (shows as no ratings)
very strange overall… gonna try to look for the package name and try installing it through Aurora Store since I always have better results with that than App Lounge
ETA: Can’t find it even from looking through package name in either store, I’m assuming now it’s either discontinued or just something not working well with the app itself…
So, You just don’t want to try APKpure where the app exists… on the other hand cannot blame You as it doesn’t sem to work anyway 
@SD9 - While I am not dissing the App Lounge nor Aurora Store or those who want to stay inside it(smaller attack vector and from-source), APKPure as mentioned as well as APKMirror(former donator to that one) are good options when left without alternatives.
I also looked it up and could not find it in the Lounge and I do not use Aurora, I wonder if it is region-locked and you have your device and/or the appstores inadvertently outside of the available region(s), causing the “content restriction,” part.
That may be the case, but seems like the app doesn’t work regardless of app store
