App Lounge no longer working with anonymous account

Recently my App Lounge stopped working with the anonymous account. I was getting “anonymous login failed”, and when I tapped “more information” I got “Gplay api has faced error” and “status: 403”.

Some searching suggested that I clear the cache and data, and logout and log back in (as anonymous). Now, I run into a message saying “The anonymous account you’re currently using is unavailable. Please refresh the session to get another one.” But, hitting “refresh session” just triggers the message again.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! For context I’m running /e/OS v
1.17 on a fairphone 4.

At first sight this is well out of date (like one year or so without updates!). Please can you give your full version_string as [HOWTO] Give complete /e/OS version info easily for support, answers, comparison etc.

There have been quite a number of Fairphone 4 with this sort of issue since about October 2024. Click on this hashtag fp4 and check some of the similar threads with titles like “Stuck on version … with no updates”.
