App Lounge not updating apps

Hi

Stuck several days in app lounge update apps. Updatable apps list shows. I select update some and progress bar stucks at 0%. Internet is working right. This happens in /e/os 3.5 and after upgradging to 3.6.

Also tried conecting to vpn, same result. “update all” option in the uppper right corner is disabled.

Also tried resetting app lounge by deleting its storage content, same result.

Just in case it matters: device is Samsung Galaxy S7

Any idea?

Thank you very miuch.

Is this [Solved] post close to to your situation? App-lounge: updates do not install

Yes, its something alike. But after waiting…., sometimes it only shows open source apps only and when I touch update, same result. Some times after waiting, a message shows “Account unavailable…..“ and I can refresh session, but same result.

Thank you for your help

Hi, you replied quite quickly, did you notice my view that the wait is critical.

In the link I wrote: If at first the problem persists be sure to take the advice to try later, like 12 hours later and have the phone fully charged as battery below a certain level is known to hinder or prevent download.

If App Lounge has been log jammed each time you login your device shows as “unresponsive” or “compromised” at the remote server – you need time to let it forget that memory. You may also need to apply all 4 steps in the FAQ if they actually form part of a complex situation for you and include restarts.

Yes, I answered quick because I have this problem since several days and I also tried waiting pretty hours (all night and more (more than 12 hours)) with same result. Also phone had 100% battery cause I had always pluged to charger as I use it also as internet sharing.

Gonna try now:

Force close app lounge, delete app lounge storage and wait till tomorrow (12+ hours), then reboot phone and will retry.

Will be back with results.

Thank you.

Back with results.

Just have tried again. Same result.

What I did yesterday (more than 12 hours ago)

Forced close app lounge.

Deleted app lounge storage info (reset app as new installed, as I understand)

Leave phone connected to power supply.

What I have done today (a few minutes ago)

Battery is 100%

Reboot phone

Start App Lounge

Go to updates, updatable apps list show

Tip for example: update on organic maps

Same result. Progress bar 0% and no progress after waiting hours….

Any idea?

Thank you

Thanks.

Any change if you leave aside updates temporarily … and …

What is expected, when you open App Lounge you see an “animated blank screen”; can you estimate the time for this to resolve?

Moving on … can you select and bring to focus an app known to come from Google Play store? If yes, what reaction to attempt install?

Are you testing Anonymous account only? Do you see any reaction as you log out and login from App Lounge > Settings.

Do you see anything different if you logout, restart phone and log in.

Anything different if you search for an app which requires an update and bring to focus? Does it offer to open? Does it offer to update?

leave aside updates temorarily…. no changes

open app lounge, shows logo, then shows few seconds (2… 3 secs), then shows app list

select app from google store (example: ChatGPT), try to install, install succesful

All tests tried with anonymous. Tried login with my google account but got an error.

Log out, restart phone and log in…. no changes.

search app updatable: it shows open. When bring to focus… shows update. tip update, changes button to cancel button and nothing.

Implies no problem with token exchange.

I had hoped to test if there was a problem with the “update list” … is it worth to try if all affected apps fail to update “solo” (as just tried). Does any error message appear for any affected app, attempted solo.

Another idea occurs. Are you perhaps running Android 12? How many apps are involved? Have any apps updated since you noticed the problem?

If yes to a12, app devs may limit the devices to which they send. Some devs might decide that their apps could be compromised on a device without full Google security support.

Do you think this could be a possibility? Is there any such suggestion in app description or contact with app support? Are many apps involved. Would you like to share app names? Perhaps others could test on higher Android versions … something of a guess.

Just have tried restoring to factory default. No changes.

Android running is from latest /e/os (3.6). It is…. yes, 12.

I am installing a bunch of apps now.

It’s working now. Don’t know what happened. Just installed some apps and games and now it updates ok.

Still not working for me. Apps download to 100%, then shortly installing appears followed immediately by retry. The list of apps not updating has grown to 17. I have tried the recommended clearing of storage and cache and waited for more than 12 hours before retrying with a fully charged phone on wifi. Any suggestions?

In this post No App display in App Lounge - #4 by aibd I expand on my experience of “token exchange” being the problem.

However if apps Search and display works and apps are installing ok but a list of apps is not updating is something else.

One thought is App Lounge attempting to update an app which originally came from a different source? App Lounge > Settings includes a check box to prevent this.

Settings > Apps > your_app will show under STORE the original source of the app.

Just tried updating through the Aurora store app and it worked! Through anonymous login. Any idea why this does work but not via App Lounge?

Thanks, missed your post but i must have installed through the aurora store. Do you recommend the App Lounge for installing apps instead of Aurora? I recently switched from iPhone to Fairphone due to Apple kissing Trumps …, so i am not familiar with android. Thanks for helping me out!

Many users have App Lounge, Aurora store and https://f-droid.org/.

From experience, in all above, I don’t use

Automatic updates or

Update apps from other sources.

No hard rules on which to use, but spoofing the proprietary app store gives problems from time to time.

Thank you. I read Aurora relies on google play services while App Lounge does not? No idea what that means, but is that not a vote for App Lounge?

Each uses a (quite similar) method to spoof the proprietary play services.

In my case, I remember I had “Molly” (open source signal), and i’m not sure, but I think, I remember I installed it from a different source instead of app lounge, so maybe that was the problem in my case? not sure.
