Aurora store anonymus with MicroGCompansion?

I downloaded the Aurora store. In doing so, I must have automatically installed Micro G Companion. I deleted the memory from Micro G Companion and deactivated the app, thus denying network access. But Aurora still works. Does that mean I am no longer anonymous? Was it a mistake to deactivate the Micro G Companion app?

When I log into Aurora, I still have anonymous status even though Micro G Companion is deactivated. In the Aurora store settings, there is also the option: Pretend. My device is listed there. (But after deactivating Micro G Companion, I had nothing in the spoofing list even though I was logged in anonymously. After restarting, the device is back in the list. Was I not anonymous? Do I have to activate Micro G Companion anyway?

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online services

Maybe this thread Google Play Services on my FF 5 and no idea where it comes from tells you the things you need to know on the subject.

Micro-G Companion (an essential part of /e/OS) mimics Google Play Services and shares the name com.android vending.

So you can tell Aurora not to update apps from non Aurora sources or use the blacklist; both from Aurora Settings … more / better words in the link.

Thank you. Its not tracking, just needed for Aurora Store… Thanks

It is not *needed by Aurora store. It is just Aurora store believes that it can offer an Upgrade.

With any luck an update would restore the real micro-G components, but then Aurora Store may suggest to replace it again if not blocked from Aurora Settings not to update apps from non Aurora sources or use the blacklist.
