Hello,
I have recently installed /e/OS/ on a Samsung Galaxy S10e (UK). Despite being 7 years old this phone was new in a sealed box. I just had to replace the battery, but with that done the phone was working fine on the standard OS. I installed /e/OS/ (painful but I got there in the end) as I wanted to try the de-Googled experience and get the phone back on to a supported OS (Samsung dropped support a couple of years ago).
I have another, identical S10e that I have been using since it was new, using a Smarty SIM. Smarty is a UK VNO using the Three physical network.
My problem is that when I switch my SIM to the new /e/OS/ phone it will not connect to the Smarty network. It briefly shows a connection to Three, before failing and reporting ‘Emergency Calls Only‘. When I attempt to select a network manually, it can see no networks.
I’ve tried a network reset and again it connects to Three for a bit (but cannot makes calls or send SMS), before failing again.
I’ve done all I can with Smarty support, who conclude that there’s either a problem with the phone or software. This seems reasonable when the SIM works in the other phone and I’m inclined to think it’s related to the OS as the devices are otherwise identical.
Hoping someone has a bright idea!
Cheers
