Hello,
I recently bought a Samsung S8 (SF-G950F) and tried installing /e/os.
First, easy_install did not work, neither manual install: impossible to start in recovery mode. I discovered that all 2.* versions recovery did not work on this phone, and installed manually 1.21 recovery then installed /e/os image. (I put this here in order to help if someone is stuck with this problem).
After install, the phone reboot, a “e” is shown during 2 minutes, then the phone reboots and I have the message: Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt...
If I choose Factory data reset
, it’s the same; if I choose Try again
, it boots. Strange.
Then I configure /e/os but when asked for a pin or a pattern for unlocking my phone, the choice ends with the message Screen lock was already changed. Try again with the new screen lock.
and I am asked to start again.
I have skipped this step, started /e/os and then tried from Parameters, the result is the same. The logcat shows permission errors around line 3700 (for first config try) and 10000 (for try from Parameters).
I have read Samsung S8 - Don’t work pin-code/password but I don’t understand how he managed to make it work. So I have no idea what to do.
OK I solved the problem: installing back the samsung rom, configuring the pattern and fingerprint, then reinstalling /e/OS 1.21 and it’s okay.
