Can't find fastboot device Oneplus 5T

I wanted to install /e/OS on my OnePlus 5T, but despite enabling USB debugging and OEM unlock in the developer options I can only reboot the bootloader but once I am in fastboot my device doesn’t appear when typing fastboot devices into command prompt. One my phone I only have the options to start, restart the bootloader, enter recovery mode or power the device off, see picture.

Is the issue that Secure boot is enabled? If so, how do I disable it?
Since I’m asking for help anyway could someone also explain to me what’s the difference between

  • [/e/OS Recovery for community build]
  • /e/OS build : [U community]
and which one am I supposed to install? I tried checking Different Build Types but Recovery isn’t one of the Different Build Types.
I greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Hello @NinjaEule, Welcome to this forum.

So Windows…
Look like Fastboot Driver is missing

You need to first flash the custom recovery using fastboot in bootloader mode,

Then you will be abble to install the main system using adb in recovery mode.

Install /e/OS on a OnePlus 5T - “dumpling”

Thanks @piero
I was a bit confused because I thought

  • [/e/OS Recovery for community build]
  • /e/OS build : [U community]
went to different links, not the same.
I was able to install the OS correctly. Just one more question.
Is it possible to relock the bootlocker. so that I don’t get the warning that it’s unlocked everytime I boot the phone? If it is you can add it at the end of the install guide so the question doesn’t have to be answered multiple times.

You can see here that you can’t:
https://doc.e.foundation/devices/dumpling

And in the instaltion manual it is usually the last step, if missing you usually can’t.

So Data unavailable means no. Well good to know.
Shouldn’t cause any issue unless someone gets ahold of my phone, right?
Safetynet is marked as unknow on that page.
If I should help clear that up, just let me know and tell me what to do.

The person will need physical access to your phone without you knowing, but your data is safe.

SafetyNet is strange at the moment, the usual checker doesn’t check correctly if I understood correctly, not sure if the cheker or /e/OS is the problem.

Yeah that’s what I thought.
By checker you mean what exaclty?

One of these

I get a network error when running it:

It’s probable not the right place to ask, but I didn’t have the forsight to export my contacts before installing /e/OS. I have all the files from the phone of the old OS ( OxygenOS 10) on my PC but I have no idea where the contacts are stored. Anyway to find them?

You might try to search for files with extension .vcf. Depends of course how you extracted your data.

But you can export them from your /e/OS phone. Contacts app > Settings > Export.

Was able to find a backup file from 2019. After that the contacts must have been saved on the google account. Can just request a backup and delete the info afterwards.
