Change location of default download folder

Hi, I would like to change the default download folder and tell the system I want things to be downloaded to a folder on my external sdcard.

How can I do that?

you are right, for the default browser app.
I was wondering if it is possible to configure it system wide, so that any other application uses the other location for the folder

I don’t think that’s ever been possible. Over the years I’ve never seen an option to change the default download location in Android. No doubt hard coded in the Download Manager (com.android.providers.downloads) or somewhere else.
For the user the only option is to make use of a third party download manager where applicable.
