"copy apps and data" step is missing after a factory reset

Hey all,

I recently got a fairphone 6. After doing a factory reset the “copy app and data” section of the initial configuration is missing. I initially skipped it because I was just testing the phone out but now I want to do back and copy my data.

I’ve reached out to the support a couple of days ago but I haven’t heard back yet.

Please help!

It’s missing because you reset the phone, there is not “data”. My best guess anyway, I don’t have a Fairphone. But it make a lot of sense you reset the phone, it losses it’s data.

I guess you might be thinking of the Google service Copy apps & data from an Android to a new Android device - Android Help absent in /e/OS.

Aibd,

I’m referring to the “Copy apps and data” from this article: https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/27513207708946-Transferring-Data-from-Android-to-Your-New-Fairphone

Tcecyk, I bought the fairphone from Murena. I sent the murena helpdesk a message a couple of days ago but I haven’t heard back (aside from the confirmation email). Thanks for the e/os migration docs! I’ll probably follow up on that.

(I could have sworn I saw the copy apps and data on the first boot up. Grumble, grumble grumble)

I think you are a person or a few persons, disgruntled with eOS and you are using AI to generate bogus usernames/posts.

I wonder out loud of the legalities of a person doing such actions.
