I’ll try it soon (just acquired a J7 2017 DUOS for free), but what about newest Android ?

There are many resources and some tries…

Alpha builds without proper reference to sources

“Corrupt zip file”. How would you deal with this?

Any better with R version? Now unofficial build with all apps:

After reboot stucks on the e/os logo, it doesn’t go to the welcome screen

Does the Lineage version works? Building went smooth for eOS…

Yes, Lineage 19.1 works on J7

Are you planning to continue this conversation? As I mentioned earlier, unfortunately, this operating system isn’t functioning properly - it gets stuck at the e/os logo after reboot. I value everyone’s time, and I’m sure you’ve dedicated some effort to creating this OS. Regrettably, it seems to have been in vain. Could you please attempt to recreate the operating system? I would be grateful for your dedication and effort in creating it again.

did you tried please try a factory-reset at this step ?

Before installation I used Flash Repartition Script for Exynos 7870 and marked wipe partitions without microsd and usb in OrangeFox, which is how it should be done and as it is in the guide in the link provided by ronnz98

Is it possible to do factory reset in phone in this condition? I don’t know anything about it even though I’m already somewhat interested in this topic. Could you please explain this to me?

I just did a factory reset in OrangeFox and when I reboot it still stucks at the eos logo… That’s not the point

The /e/OS build is basically a port of the Lineage version. I did not change anything… since its still an ALPHA build even Lineage version may not work (please test this first).
Usually changes are good that /e/OS works especially when building does not need any tweaking (like in this case) but in some cases it does not work for any reason.
Did you follow this for R version:

LineageOS needs custom recovery for flash, if you have skip to step 5.
Step1: enable developer options;
Go to settings>device info> software information and click build number 7 times.

Step 2: enable USB-Debugging & USB Debugging
Go to developer options and enable USB-Debugging And OEM Unlock

Step 3: reboot your phone to download mode.
Shut down your phone and press power + volume down + home button same button and wait download mode confirmation screen if it here, accept it.

Step 4: flash TWRP
Download Odin to your computer and connect your phone using usb-cable, and select your TWRP file and flash using AP option (don’t forgot the disable auto-reboot option)

Step 5: Flash Repartition Script.
NOTE: THAT ERASES YOUR ALL DATA (APPS, FILES, CONTACTS ETC.) Flash OrangeFox Recovery for use repartition script

Download repartition script from Here

Step 6: Fix partitions
Go to manage partitions settings on orangefox recovery and change file system first ext2 after ext4

Step 7: flash LineageOS
Click folder icon on orangefox and select Downloaded LineageOS file and confirm flash

Step 8: reboot and done
After finish flash, reboot your phone and complete the setup.

I literally did the same following these steps. Other OS’s work, I tested older version eos for J7 with android 10 from 2022, lineage 18.1 and not very stable 19.1

You can install the Pie version of /e/OS:

https://xdaforums.com/t/unofficial-build-e-os-0-22-3-q-for-samsung-galaxy-j7-2017-j7y17lte.4419505/

In addition did you ever try to follow this instructions below and install /e/OS then?

@marx95

You can use GSI image on J7. I tested it on J730F, latest version 1.17. and it works fine.

Be careful that you choose the right version, it’s ARM64 AB.

Where to download it? After many tests and tries of various roms also on the J730F NevaOS works best. I tested eOS 0.22.3, but the interface didn’t suit me (maybe it’s different in newer versions), but it was very stable

You can find it here, under GSI section.

They will correct gsi documentation with those links soon. Latest is 1.17. e/OS/ Q but will be moving to T (Android 13) in the future.

I don’t see the AB version. There is arm64 a and b
