Attempt to “revive” DC Dimming option for FP5 as it was closed.
Stock OS on FP5 has “DC Dimming” option. (which doesn’t completely eliminate all flicker, but that’s besides the point - it is still an improvement over default behaviour)
Since it is not a standard Android setting, I’m afraid it might not be present on /e/OS or LineageOS.
Wipe and reinstall is a long process so I hope that someone who already knows, could tell:
Is DC Dimming ported to /e/OS or LineageOS?
And if not, what’s roughly the potential amount of work to make that happen?
The associated issue DC dimming option in FP5 (#7268) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab seems to have had little progress of late. Reading between the lines it looks rather as if a fix was worked on but did not progress to production.
