I’ve recently installed deezer and cloned it via shelter to the professional profile on my fairphone 4.
For some reason the app causes a system crash everytime I launch a playlist. The screen goes from the normal display to the standby screen and loops between a black screen and the standby screen.
There has been no other issue whatsoever on my device.
I have reinstalled the app, tried to delete cache etc… Nothing gets any result.
failed to reproduce this to get a logcat / stracktrace. Created a playlist (on a free account), launched. My guess is on audio/drm things crashing. Needs a logcat from your device
Hi and thanks for your replies.
I’ll try to have a logcat but am not rooted so need to workaround this .
Just to clarify, the issue occurs whenever I’m launching a track, a playlist or the flow function.
no need to root, you can either collect logs on-device with logfox or use regular adb. It’s still a handful for sure.
I get this right, it crashes on launching just any track, so you’re barred from listening atm? one still kind of user-friendly way is to hop back half a year or year in version and check if it still works. This needs prior uninstall of the app as Android doesn’t allow downgrades in-place. Apkmirror is fine for getting older apks - they look for certificate signature continuity
You’re right, the issue bars me from listening any track as it stands.
Just out of curiosity, I checked using Deezer from the personal profile and there was no issue.
Even stranger, the issue disappears if Deezer is used from the professional profile while it is still installed on the personal profile (I had the issue when using Deezer from the professional profile while having uninstalled it from the personal profile).
So all in all I’ll keep it working that way but find strange that it requires to be installed on the personal profile…
