Disable Home Screen automatic sorting

As per title, is it possible to switch off the automatic sorting for apps and folders in the home screen?

I like to put app icons and folders in specific locations, both to allow me to see my backgrounds and to satisfy my OCD, but i just cannot find the option is the setting.

Does the option exist or do I need to open a feature request?

That is a negative … but you can always go back to alphabetical (by Clear storage) or install another launcher. hashtag launcher

Edit: I’ve settled for Lawnchair, from what I’ve seen so far it offers a very similar experience to the system launcher of my old Oneplus
