I have a brand new Fairphone 3+ with a regular e account.
I can show both device contacts and remote contacts, and birthdays of remote contacts shows in the “contacts birthdays” calendar.
However local contacts (device) birthdays didn’t.
Any idea ?

Not in calendar, but I use a widget called “Geburtstag Info Widget” (in the Aurora store) which shows always the next few birthdays from the contacts.
I had a similar issue.
So I decided to freeze calendar native app and use “simple calendar” instead.
With Simple calendar both local and remote contact birthdays are shown.
Thanks for answers. I was unable to fing the Geburtstag Info Widget, but Simple Calendar pro does the stuff like the standalone application Birthdays. It’s really annoying that such basic function is still missing from tha standard (and good) e application.
You’re right. It’s very surprising because both SimpleCalendar and native app seem to be based on Etar (which doesn’t show local contact birthdays…)
In late 2023, this is still the case. This seems like basic functionality to me. I’ll leave a post so that I might about updates.

SimpleCalendar ist not based on Etar. It’s an own, independent development.
